Youth Theatre Involvement

Levi began his music directing career because of generous educators that helped him grow his confidence and develop his talents. Because of that, he has consistently given back through youth theatre involvement. He has worked as the music director and lighting designer for Lutheran High School's Saints on Stage program for seven years, a director and camp director for Christian Youth Theatre Indy (now: The Point Theater) for five years, as well as the music director for The Belfry's Apprentice Players for four summers. In Indy, Levi ran a vocal studio. Several of his students were accepted into top music schools and are beginning their own music and theatre careers. 

He has won awards as an educator in Indianapolis, including Teacher of the Year (2022) and the Southside Times'  Educator of the Month Award. From the newspaper article for the EotM Award: "... A fellow faculty member describes Mr. Burke as ‘creative, inspiring students to think and dream outside of their predisposed mindsets.'" From the district's TotY Award: "Students appreciate Mr. Burke for his high expectations, encouraging Christian attitude, and the opportunities he takes to insert life lessons like that of failure and grace."
